Charles Kim is known in professional and educational circles for his philanthropic contributions, particularly those that empower the next generation of leaders. Mr. Kim studied management and finance at Binghamton University before beginning his professional career on Wall Street and eventually co-founding his own firm. Throughout his career, he has maintained a passion for his alma mater and a strong interest in helping students succeed. He and his family donated the funds to build the YS Kim Korean Student Center at the university, named in honor of his father. He has also funded scholarships for dozens of Binghamton students. In 2017, Binghamton’s School of Management recognized his significant impact by awarding him with the University Medal, the highest honor bestowed by the university. He also sits on the board of the Binghamton University Foundation. In addition to supporting his alma mater, Mr. Kim and his company fund the largest charitable event in the Virgin Islands, the “King of the Wing” culinary competition. Prior to founding Alpine Group, he worked with First New York Securities in equity trading. Charles Kim began his career as a portfolio management analyst with Alliance Capital.
