The challenges are the trial and error for the route. There were gaps in between which caused the balls to get stuck. We overcame the challenge by finding a solution to cover up the gaps using more cut up toilet rolls.

We also thought of how the children can see the process of the ball running through the toilet rolls so we made a slit in the toilet rolls.

Things to improve:

Instead of using masking tape, we should use scotch tape to reduce the fiction caused by the rough texture of the pompom and masking tape.
To make it more interactive, we can wrap the board with felt cloth or contact paper, to allow the children to explore, create, and construct their own path.

Challenge faced:

1) Angling the toilet rolls to ensure the ball can roll down both sides

How we overcome the challenge as a group:

We each took turns to paste the toilet roll until we got the right angle.

The challenges we faced was to test if the pom pom balls will go through the holes. The gap is too big and the pom pom ball fell out of the track.

Do not need to cover the tube to prevent the ball from dropping out as it will encourage the children to observe and explore problem solving on their own.
Through this activity, it will inculcate the values of resilience and grit.
