❣️Inward Manners

1. Intention(niat): Have you ever wondered what's your intention in pursuing your study?

   Having sincere and heartful intentions are the main sources of power to everything we do. (🔖constantly improving your intentions can make you closer physically and spiritually to Allah)

2. Define Goals: Mind you, I'm a girl who doesn't really know what she wanted to do nor be. However, doing the best in every in everything i do is the utmost important to me. So find what you do best, even it's a little act of kindness to yourself💖.

3. Veneration (respect): Ilmu i not your chores nor a menial task that you can throw away if not in used. It is your friend, so treat it with respect.

4. Manners (Adab): "Adab first, knowledge second". Show warmth and courtesy to your teachers, friends and staff that work in your institution.

5. Prepare for class: Most of us are in the process of learning, so it will do good to us if we try to understand the topic first before the class start🫰

   
   

❣️Outward Manner

From today Usrah, i learned that repetition is the key. Wherever and whenever you go, every stage of learning should exercise repeat and review. In order other to do that, we should move to the next step which is take notes and ask questions. As a student who doesn't have photography memories, I always jolt down my notes and ask questions to my lecturers if I don't understand anything. Y'know the cure for confusion is to ask. Next, extra reading, extra reading, extra reading, don't just let your curiosity stop when the class ends. This might seem boring to you, but it'll be worth it😜.

While we were one day sitting with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), there appeared before us a man dressed in extremely white clothes and with very black hair. No traces of journeying were visible on him, and none of us knew him. He sat down close by the Prophet (peace be upon him), rested his knee against his thighs, and said, "O Muhammad! Inform me about Islam."

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "Islam is that you should testify that there is no deity except Allah and that Muhammad is His Messenger, that you should perform salah, pay the Zakah, fast during Ramadan, and perform Hajj to the House, if you are able to do so."

The man said, "You have spoken truly." We were astonished at his questioning him (the Messenger) and telling him that he was right, but he went on to say, "Inform me about iman."

He (the Messenger of Allah) answered, "It is that you believe in Allah and His angels and His Books and His Messengers and in the Last Day, and in qadar (fate), both in its good and in its evil aspects." He said, "You have spoken truly."

Then he (the man) said, "Inform me about Ihsan." He (the Messenger of Allah) answered, "It is that you should serve Allah as though you could see Him, for though you cannot see Him yet (know that) He sees you."

He said, "Inform me about the Hour." He (the Messenger of Allah) said, "About that, the one questioned knows no more than the questioner." So he said, "Well, inform me about the signs thereof." He said, "They are that the slave-girl will give birth to her mistress, that you will see the barefooted, naked, destitute, the herdsmen of the sheep (competing with each other) in raising lofty buildings." Thereupon the man went of. I waited a while, and then he (the Messenger of Allah) said, "O Umar, do you know who that questioner was?" I replied, "Allah and His Messenger know better." He said, "That was Jibril (the Angel Gabriel). He came to teach you your religion."

Lessons from the hadith above:

1. Jibril a.s. dressed with extremely white clothes indicates that Islam emphasizes the Adab of being presentable during lectures as it shows our respect and enthusiasm toward our lecturers.

2. A Muslim with established Iman in his heart means that he believe in all of what the Prophet Muhammad had said. One do not recognize to have Iman if he didn't fully believe in the Pillars of Iman ^[1]

3. Individuals that consider themselves as Muslim must give their best efforts to learn, practice and implement the elements of Pillars in Islam in their lives. Hence leading a life where we constantly reminded to Allah S.W.T. and seek His Mercy and Forgiveness. ^[2]

4. Last but not least, Ihsan. The hadith didn't mean that you should think of Allah S.W.T. only during your prayers. It also pointed out that every milliseconds in your lives, your actions and your words. Therefore a true believer should consider everything in his life are for the sake of the One and Only God (ikhlas).
