Meyer Wolfsheim is a fifty year old Jewish gambler, an old friend of Gatsby. That is an occupant of Broadway, New York, who has most likely participated in multiple crimes and bets. One such being, The fixing of the 1919 World Series

While talking to Nick, Mr. Wolfsheim says he saw Nick looking at his cuffs (even though he hadn't) and says, "‘I see you’re looking at my cuff buttons.’.. ...‘Finest specimens of human molars,’" Knowing that Mr. Wolfsheim is in fact a gambler, we can infer that he must've gotten them from winning a bet.

Important Action

Even though Mr. Wolfsheim isn't the one telling Nick this. Gatsby is telling him of an action that Mr. Wolfsheim made in 1919. Which is that, "He’s the man who fixed the World’s Series back in 1919." That tells us that Mr. Wolfsheim is a daring and risk taking man, but also a man who's smart and knows ho to play his cards well. He could've been arrested, but no one's been able to find out who he is, telling us that he's smart at keeping himself inconspicuous

Mr. Wolfsheim and Gatsby talk about, "The old Metropole" and "...the night they shot Rosy Rosenthal there." He says that 5 people along with Becker shot Rosy and drove away. Mr. Wolfsheim got sentimental and riled up telling this story. It seems to really bring out his sad side
