No. Brazil is already a color-blind nation. The color-blind nation here is conceptualized as a country that didn't recognize

that skin color has a significant impact on the way that people access opportunities. In this sense, the discussion about color and privilege is intertwined with

the opportunities accessed by different social classes in Brazilian society.

How does the concept of privilege relate to the statement, "Many Brazilians believe that people can be successful if they work hard and have a strong work ethic"?

The main problem with this statement is that it is "one size fits all." In our society, we access different opportunities and have different backgrounds. For this reason, it is problematic to "measure" someone's success only based on the individual capacity.

Why should we have a conversation about how privilege affects us, especially when some people think discrimination is a thing of the past?

For me, the first thing is raising awareness among the general public, especially those far from the university.
