The song is basically high speed scat jibberish, a shouted chorus ("I'm a scatman!") and some verse interludes of optimistic and socially positive rapping, all of which is set over bubbly dance synth so clean and digital it actually makes you feel dirty. Because that's the paradox with this song. It came out in 1995 -- two years after the death of Kurt Cobain and the end of grunge -- and it's like the music industry hyper corrected itself, filling the jagged hole of authentic misery with obscene plastic nightmares like this -- stuff so light that it's actually dark, like the insincerity of people who work at Disney World and have to smile all day regardless of their illness or divorce. 

Part of me imagines this song played on repeat by sadistic prison guards, the prisoners themselves awash in perpetual florescent lights and trying to claw their own eardrums out. Stop the horror! Stop the horror!

Maybe it was the power of repeat, because I had the game saved at that point, so with each catastrophic and fiery death, I would restart and the song would kick in again. It's the best way to drill something into your brain.

There's also a kind of masculinity in this song that you don't find much in the modern woke world. The lead singer/guitarist is hyper-buff, the kind of dude who could crush your skull in his bare hands, and he's unashamedly into chicks (see them objectified in the background of the music video). It's an openly heterosexual and almost Satanistic statement: the guitar is the weapon, he's not wearing a shirt, and his voice is red-lining before the shredder of a solo at the 2.20 mark. The drummer is bashing at the skins while some weird Nosferatu silhouettes are going on in the background, the nameless model dancing away like its a rap video. 

I think of it now, and it's like the dark cousin of glam rock. And I like. Especially in the morning. Its sad because i laughed out loud at that joke. Anyways this is a beautiful song to get up and listen to on a boring wednesday morning, to get you up and ready for your day, as this song not only has a beautiful sound to it, it also has a message of blood diamonds behind it which is shown very well in the music video for the song itself.

Overall this song gives nothing but a great message and awareness, and is just a overall great song from the beat to the lyrics to the vocals and the mixing is just a real masterpiece and this is why people may argue that Kanye West is one of the greatest "rap" artist.

It mixes the use of percussion instruments with the sound of a psychedelic guitar. The intro to the song sets it off perfectly. The quick pounding of the drums followed by the soothing guitar sets a sort of relaxing feel to the song while also having a bumping tune. The first solo in the middle of the song is perfect as it keeps the flow running really well without ruining the song. The second solo is the shining achievement of the whole song. It's this solo with the use of the guitars wah-pedal (which is used to change the frequency of the guitar) which creates this psychedelic trip halfway through with sounds made by a guitar, you never realized a guitar could make. The song is originally written by Bob Dylan but this cover has gone down as one of the best guitar covers of all time. This song is perfect for setting a good mood. Let me set the scene, You open up FIFA on a Friday after a boring week at school and this up beat song gets you fired up and happy, lifting your mood after that outrageously awful week. Sounds okay, right. WRONG! You have to ditch the song in a good mood to start your first FUT champs game, you go on a losing streak after playing Mbappe, Rashford, Varane, Neymar, and to top everything off, the lucky f***ers cop themselves R9, Pele or Eusebio in their icon packs, for 8 straight games before you win your first game.

Its like a really aggressive alarm which you could have in the morning except it could drive you crazy without a doubt. It sounds like your at a rock concert but instead of playing there destroying all the instruments and the mic and everything so since the people who made this ae on a journey to make the most awful and loudest sound ever. Probably not a recommendation to listen to in the morning/ever. Its like an earthquake has begun but its playing through the loudest speakers ever. If you listen to this on headphones i would recommend taking your headphones of and putting them on the table to listen to if your listening this through a speaker or something then please be aware that it is the worst sound horrible and people could think your being possessed or something. Now I've had a fairly unique life with all the moving around I do and all the hobbies I have, it's like I've already lived a full gap year. There was one year however, 2014, Where I'd been to more countries than imaginable. I'd gone from living in Australia, to Northern Ireland to Manchester and then moving to 2 different houses in London. It was exhausting, but this song has a very special place in my heart because it takes me back to the time when my life was way more simple, prior to the winter of 2014. You know, like the 40 degree Christmas's, school just down the road, tranquillity, beauty, beaches and just pure perfection. This is how I lived prior to moving to this dump yard they call 'London'. 

I have extremely strong opinions on this topic which is exactly why I bang on about it so much. London in comparison to at least Adelaide considering I can't speak for any other city, will just provide you with a much better life in all sorts of ways. Have you ever noticed that the only people that say they love England are the ones that haven't left it? I believe my opinion, alongside a lot of other people who have had a similar situation to me, is more valid than anyone else's in this country because I have experienced life on the outside.

Now, coming back to the song. I always have and always will love this song. Since the day it came out, it just got better and better every time I listened to it. It's my all time favourite and, as I mentioned earlier, it will always have a special place in my heart.
