The iditarod is something really hard to do because they need to travel miles and miles they travel more than 300 miles wow!They have 27 checkpoints !.Wow ,i really shocked now.If you were in it that would be so much miles.The mushers need to go with there dogs for practice for getting cool with it and making it easy for them.Some dogs die because the cold and the snow.It makes it really cold for them to survive.It's easy for the dogs who have long fur it helps them survive  in the cold.
