Starbucks has achieved both external and internal growth through various strategies. Internally, the company expanded by opening thousands of new stores globally, refining its menu, and enhancing customer experience through innovations like mobile ordering and loyalty programs. Externally, Starbucks pursued growth through acquisitions, such as buying the Teavana brand in 2012 to enter the premium tea market and acquiring Evolution Fresh to diversify its product offerings in the health and wellness space. These combined efforts have helped Starbucks scale its operations and broaden its product range.

Internal Growth:

An example of internal growth would be Red Bull expanding their market from making energy drinks, to also producing original lifestyle and sports content, making Red Bull Media House one of the worlds leading premium content providers. This is also an effective way of advertising for their main product, the Red Bull energy drink.

External Growth:

An example of external growth would be Amazon acquiring the grocery store chain, Whole Foods. With this enormous purchase, Amazon entered the grocery store market and helped "revive" Whole Foods, they increased customer satisfaction, and helped reduce some of their debts and costs. This helped Amazon increase their revenue streams and increased the market shares of Whole Foods.
