In this role, she provides patient focused care in areas such as dry eye and glaucoma management. Optometrist Dr. Amy Bishop also treats eye infections and fits contact lenses for corneal issues such as keratoconus. As required, she performs emergency ocular treatments that include foreign body removal. Dr. Bishop earned her bachelor’s degree at Texas A&M University and University of Houston in premed/optometry. Achieving distinction as the Texas A&M College of Agriculture’s Outstanding Freshman Student, she participated in a study that focused on equine athletes and feeding program efficiency. Subsequently completing her doctor of optometry at the University of Houston, she began her independent practice in 1994.
