I am thankful to have an opportunity to even be apart of the nursing program when there are so many people out here wanting to be in this position but can’t due to many reasons. I am thankful for the mother i have. And the relationships i have built with people in my class that makes me feel like I’ve known them forever. And most importantly i am thankful for my health.

I am thankful for having the opportunity to further my education and for my family that has stuck by my side through this journey. My kids especially, keep me motivated to keep pushing through & make them proud. I am grateful to be living in a country where we are free to pursue education. Education is the way out of poverty. It is one of the only things that can't be taken from you.

I'm also grateful for Mr. Brack. He's an amazing teacher that goes above and beyond to help his students succeed. The way he teaches using real life examples, keeps it relevant and helps us to understand the text. His nursing experience, teaching style, and humor make the class enjoyable.

I’m grateful for Coach, Dr. K and Mrs. Smith. They all are so understanding. They create safe spaces for students to learn and grow while expecting the best of us! They are all very supportive, informative and loving. (Even if the “loving” is tough! Lol) I’m grateful to have such high class, experienced instructors. They deserve all the praise!

I am grateful for my family who has encouraged me to pursue nursing. They have been my rocks when I’ve felt defeated. I’ve been able to devote my time to learning while they’ve picked up the slack of expenses.

I’m also grateful to my three children and the joy that they have brought to my life. Being their mom is my greatest reward.

Finally I am grateful for all the instructors that I’ve had at NCI. Especially Ms. Cece who has pushed me and showed me how great of a nurse I can be.

I am forever grateful to have been a graduate student. 7-years ago my life changed for the better after graduation. I had an awesome teacher and staff was so very helpful. I am proud to be an alumni. Class of 2017 was good to me. Thank you Northern Career Institute.

I am grateful for God's grace and mercy that allowed me to complete this awesome program in 2017. I have used the skills and knowledge to developed in to an amazing caring compassionate knowledgeable nurse, I am currently experiencing this same grace and mercy as I am close to completing my degree as a Registered Nurse very soon. I'm grateful for My 1 year old daughter that keeps me from giving up , I would like for her to have a positive role model to look up to. It all started with Mrs. K talking to the students at North High school about what it really means to be a nurse. Which made me realize I had been clueless up to that point, and was foolishly dismissing the profession as an option.

Everything she said seemed to line up with my interests and ambitions at that time. Which were constantly on my mind with the always posed questions: What do you want to be when you grow up? What do you want to study in college? What kind of job do you think you would like?

Her frank words instilled the attitude of admiration for the nursing profession's work, while providing a puzzle piece that seemed to bring together and focus my scattered interests and efforts. So, I jumped into the begining of my nursing journey and have been running with it ever since (can't believe its been nearly 10 years since I started the high school LPN program!).

Many thanks for the excellent education and preparation to be a nurse! I am so grateful to all the faculty for inspiring me to always strive to be the best nurse I can and to see the beautiful privilege in caring for people.

A special thanks coming from NC. I will forever be thankful to Willoughby Eastlake! I have been a nurse for 8 years and it feels just like yesterday that I graduated. The support from Mrs. K still resonates with me to this day. She forever changed who I was and gave me the encouragement that I needed at the end when my Dad passed away. I will forever be grateful for the inspiration and her knowledge. She forever changed how I perceived being a nurse and makes me want strive to be a better nurse every shift. I just started a job with UNC working in General Surgery; the foundation I received here will forever last a lifetime. Can never forget Mrs. Nye; she will forever live on in my heart! Forever grateful!
