She liked being outdoors and exploring nature. She wanted to find out about animals, by watching them herself. On her 2nd birthday, she was given a stuffed animal chimpanzee. She fell in love with it and named it Jubilee, like the chimpanzee at the zoo. When she was 23 she traveled to Africa, there she met Louis Leakey who gave her a job. She is best known for living with wild chimps. When she first met the chimps they didn’t feel comfortable with her, but after about a month, they became good friends. Jane even named the chimps! Some of the names are, Fifi, Faben, Flo, Figan, and her favorite, David Greybeard. Jane wanted to go to Africa and live among wild chimps more than anything. She moved home, and worked hard to save money to get to Africa. When I figure out what I want to do with my life I am going to put in the hard work to reach my goal.
