They hoped that the Jewish people would persuade the U.S. to join the Allies side.

This was the greatest way to go about it. Arabs didn't want the Jews in

Palestine, this poses a problem because the Arabs helped great Britain in WWII and WWI

so they don't want go against them a ruin their relationship, but great Britain really want the U.S.

on the Allies side. I think that this was a good idea because the Zionist became more hostile and then Holocost was

found out about, so the British never enacted it which was the best way to do it

Then they wanted to withdraw the British forces, then after 2 months they would make two

separate states one Jewish state and one Arab state and they would make a Special International

Regime for Jerusalem. The Arab nations rejected the plan with territorial division 

Their reason was that it violated the principles of National self-determination in the UN Charter

 which granted people the right to decide their own destiny. The UN did the right thing because

tried to make both Groups happy but the one group the Arabs declined it. So I don't think the UN

could do anything more

There was battles going on in Palestine The Grand Muff-ti sided with the Germans in hope of becoming their own country. When the Germans lost the War the Brits divided up the middle east. Every one thought after the war that the Jews were so bad they deserved a place.
