I chose this picture because I understand the role of plants in society and the environment because plants surround everything and everyone. To live better and be happy, humans must be surrounded by plants. However, humans are not the only creatures who benefit from plants. Animal society and their environment benefits most from plants. Animals, big and small, and insects live off of plants and their power, most especially for shelter and food.

First of all I chose this animation video because it includes not only the process of photosynthesis, but also the functions of xylem and phloem, which is what I just learned about in the previous unit. The animation is short and to the point. I enjoyed being able to see beyond superficial pictures of the process of photosynthesis. This is because most photosynthesis images only show a plant that is receiving sun and CO2 and exporting O2, which is absolutely correct, but I enjoyed the depth of this video. I also chose this video because there is no voice over which proves that the animations can speak for themselves.

The Penstemon Dissectus, or Cutleaf Beardtongue is the rarest flower found in Georgia. This plant is an angiosperm because it flowers. It is part of the Figwort family, Scrophulariaceae. It blooms in pink and green. I found my information here https://www.wildflower.org/plants/result.php?id_plant=PEDI7.

The Temperate Grassland is the biome that is most endangered by ecological changes. The Temperate Grasslands are being transformed into plantations, farms, and cities. These grasslands are being stripped of the wild. Animals and plant life are losing their homes because of the amount of construction that is overpowering the area.

The Neolithic Revolution introduced the domestication of animals. Neolithic people were able to train dogs to help with hunting, resulting in an easier way of obtaining food. Neolithic people were able to train horses and have them plow their fields, which took the stress off of humans. Now that food was easier to obtain, the population could steadily increase.

In this video the third agricultural revolution, or green revolution, is discussed. the video explains how there are problems with food, money, and resources. Norman Borlaug is said to have started the green revolution. In India, the first food disaster occurred. In 1934, in India alone, four million people starved. However the green revolution was introduced and saved the country. I chose this video because it was simple and well informing.
