Sniping is a huge part of the economy. When you snipe something, you get the basic release price (usually around $200) and then you can resell for however much you want, sometimes thousands of dollars. This is very common and is the basic economical strategy in Hypebeast culture.

Now there is a section of Hypebeasts that buy, make, or sell replica items. Sometimes, people just use them to wear just because they dont want to pay full price, but other times they buy or make reps to sell them as if they're real and make profit. If you're aware they're fake, then it's illegal and VERY punishable.
