My path to graduate school has been long but rewarding. I recently graduated from TWU with a Bachelor in General Studies in December 2024. I started at Mountain View Community College (now Dallas College) right after high school in 1998. I got married and started a family in 1999 and took some time off from school to raise my three daughters. In 2013, I returned to school at Dallas Baptist University and was slowly taking classes. Then in 2017, after my husband had some health issues, I took another break. Life finally settled a bit in 2022, and I transferred to TWU and soon after accepted a position with Curriculum & Strategic Initiatives. My supervisor has been a tremendous supporter, encourager, and example of continuing my education in graduate school.

My career goal is to stay in higher education. I would love to work in the first-generation office or the care office. I have learned in life that the best-laid plans are good, but an open mind to the unexpected brings great rewards and lessons. So, at the moment, I am enjoying the ride of graduate school and my current position.

My family - husband Pete of 25 years and daughters Ysabella, Vivianna, and Gabriela - now reside in Denton, Texas.
