Results for attitudes toward the elderly

I agreed with most of the questions asked in the worksheet. I agreed with 12 questions and disagreed with 5 questions. I agreed with most of the questions that asked about the memory of elderly people. I do generally feel that the older you get, the more likely you are to forget things. I disagreed with questions such as if I believe older people have a smaller vocabulary or if older people adapt to new ways of doing things.

My summary of my attitude towards practicing ageism

I like to believe that I don't practice ageism, but in a way, I do. I offer to help elderly people because I automatically assume that they are struggling with whatever they are doing. This also extends to my work life. At Chick-Fil-A, we have a policy where if we see an elderly couple come in, we must rush to open the door for them. When these people order a drink or food, we tell them that we will bring it out to them because standing and waiting around is considered a struggle for them. This, in a way, could be considered ageism because we are undermining their abilities because of stereotypes created by younger people.
