         <description><![CDATA[<p>When you are thinking about going to college, one of the most important things to consider is funding and <strong>how you intend to pay for some of the costs</strong> that might come with being a student. <br></p><p>You will need to consider two things: <strong>How you will pay for any tuition fees (course costs) and how you will pay for your other living costs including travel, food, and accommodation (if this applied to you).</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Some general funding information:</strong><br>- If your course is below a certain academic level (below HNC level) and you are a UK resident there is usually no cost to you and no application for course fees is needed.</p><p><br></p><p>Edinburgh College have this handy Funding Tool so you can check what you'll need to do/what you'll be expected to pay: <a rel="noopener nofollow ugc" href="https://www.edinburghcollege.ac.uk/information-and-advice/funding-and-fees/funding-tool">Funding Tool | Edinburgh College</a></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Edinburgh college has a learning support department who offer a voluntary and confidential service to help students who tell us about a disability or additional support need. They can help plan for you/your young person's <strong>learning needs </strong>while they attend college. Please <strong>click the picture above</strong> for more details.<br><br><strong>For some young people with certain specific needs or disabilities (e.g. significant physical needs) there may need to be additional consideration and planning made for how they can access their course.</strong> Edinburgh college have learning support staff that will be able to plan for their <em>learning</em> needs, but <strong>if there are any <em>social care</em> needs</strong> (e.g. personal care needs) this should be discussed and planned for well in advance as <strong>the college will likely not be able to provide this themselves - </strong>rather it will need consideration and assessments thorough social care teams.          <description><![CDATA[<p>The are centres in Musselburgh, Haddington, and Port Seton. </p><p><br></p><p><strong>Fisherrow Hub</strong> is based in Musselburgh and provides support and weekday opportunities for young people and adults predominantly with a learning disability who are resident in East Lothian. We provide a range of structured activities at our Fisherrow base and in a range of community settings.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Tynebank Resource Centre</strong> offers support to young people and adults with learning disabilities with a particular focus on complex and additional support needs. We strive to encourage people to “be all they can be” by developing needs led activities and creative opportunities in both community and centre-based settings.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Port Seton Resource Centre </strong>is part of a lively, vibrant and thriving community centre. We offer support and structured activities that enable young people and adults with a learning disability and physical disability to take part and do things that are purposeful and meaningful to them, developing links within their own communities and other local facilities.</p>]]></description>

They offer a range of workshops, the offerings are mostly group ones, but occasionally 1:1 work can be accommodated.</p><p><br></p><p>Their East Lothian site is at Prestonpans Community Centre, however they also have several sites in Edinburgh such as at St Margaret's House, and in Leith.          <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>We help students and their families 24/7 by providing personal support that fits alongside the family and meets the needs of the young person.</strong></p><p>Our service operates outside of our Teens+ opening hours but uses the resources of our Teens+ service to offer safe and enjoyable activities for young people with complex communication needs, autism and its complexities.</p><p>We can offer weekday evening social clubs, one to one weekend or 24-hour support. We’re here to be flexible to your family’s needs.</p><p>If your young person is not currently a student at Teens+, but you are interested in using our Friends+ service, please contact us to discuss how we can help.</p>]]></description>
