I believe that this image represents the mistreatment of a mentally challenged person by society because it shows how Charlie was treated with his work 'friends.' This image shows that Charlie was effectively bullied by his 'friends' because of his retardation. I think that it is an important theme in the text because it shows how not all people are treated equal just because of the way they were made.

I believe that this quote shows how people like Charlie, are treated by society and that he doesn't realize that he was being treated badly because he was retarded.

I think that this image shows how Charlie has realized that he has made people feel inferior to him because of how smart he was. He made people so jealous of his intelligence that they didn't want him around because he made everyone look dumb. He made a big affect on his surroundings because of how much he had changed. He had realized all of this and gotten angry at himself because he made everyone feel dumb, which he didn't want.

I believe that this quote shows how charlie realizes how he made people look dumb and that his coworkers and other people don't want him around.

I believe that this image symbolizes how Charlie was alienated throughout the book because he was made fun of and never made any real friends. It shows how everyone made a joke out of him and that he was lonely and alienated most of his life. It shows that Charlie is alienated even though he doesn't know it.

I think that this quote shows how Charlie thinks that he is friends with Joe Carp and Frank Reilly but he is actually alienated and alone since they are making fun of him.

I think that this image shows the difference between intellect and emotion. I think this because at the start of Flowers for Algernon, Charlie had a very low intellect but had a lot of emotion. As Charlie progressed through the book he became more intelligent and had a higher intellect but he didn't have as much emotion as he used to. In fact he had changed from having a lot of emotion to having more intellect instead of more emotion.

I think that this image shows how Charlie was in the book. It shows that Charlie was the person in the middle of the circle with no friends to talk to and that he was alienated and lonely. Even though he didn't know it, he thought he had friends but he actually didn't. As Charlie got smarter and smarter through the novel, he realized that he was alone and that people had been making fun of him since he was retarded.

I think that this image shows the tension between intellect and emotion because throughout the start of Flowers For Algernon, Charlie has a lot of emotion but has a low intellectual level because he is retarded. As Charlie progresses throughout the book, he gains intelligence and loses his emotions because he is becoming more mature. At the start of the book Charlie wanted to be intelligent and normal so that he could have friends, but as progressed through the book, he lost his emotions and became a different person.
