On November, 6, 1969 the Rutgers College Queensman played the College of New Jersey Tigers (Current Day Princeton University) in what is considered to be the first ever gridiron game and the first collegiate football game. Rutgers won 6-4 in what is considered to be the first ever College Football National championship. Also, Rutgers only National Championship. However there were many difference between the 1869 game and modern day football as in 1869 the rules governing play were based on the London Football Association's 1863 rules that disallowed carrying or throwing the ball. It resembled soccer more than football.

The Michigan Wolverines have been playing football since 1879 and have 11 national titles. However they are best known for the place they play. Built in 1927, the Wolverines play in Michigan Stadium, better known as "the Big House" is the second largest stadium in the world as it sits 107,601 people. Rutgers Offensive Lineman (and my best friend) Mike Lonsdorf has played in the Big House twice and said "To be honest I was disappointed. It's so big and the stadium is so spread out that the noise isn't right on top of you and you can hear the quarterback on 3rd down easily. Memorial Stadium (Home of the Nebraska Cornhuskers) was way worse. That place gets loud."

College Football is the most profitable NCAA sport by far with the top teams spending hundreds of millions and making even more. In 2017 Texas had the most revenue of any other football team, bringing in over $214 million however, their total expenses were over $207 million. Clearly there is a ton of money to be made and spent in college football.
