I will be relocating from Bundaberg to Caboolture in the next couple of weeks.


I am looking forward to graduating this year and starting my career as an RN. I'm not 100% sure what area I want to go into but have interests in Mental Health, Emergency and Paediatrics.


I enjoy camping, bushwalks, going to the beach and just adventuring to see new places.


Last year I did a placement over in Fiji which I loved and this term I will be going to Mount ISA for a remote and rural placement which I'm looking forward to.

I have worked within the healthcare recruitment sector for over 10 years and have enjoyed assisting rural and remote nurses source placements nationally. These nurses and midwives, and the two incredible midwives who delivered my two daughters, inspired me to take this giant leap.


It has not been without its challenges trying to juggle work, study and 2 young children (7 & 3) but I'm so proud of how I have navigated the hurdles.


I look forward to graduating and the next stage of my career. I'm not sure what area I would like to work in, as I have enjoyed all of my placements, but ultimately would like to go onto study midwifery once I have worked as RN for a couple of years.

I am currently an EN Graduate at a Private Hospital on a surgical ward. I am really looking forward to finishing this year and exploring all the opportunities that an RN can bring. Aside from full-time study and working four days a week, I also have an 18-year-old and a 17-year-old going through VCE, so we will be a super stressed-out household for the next nine months.

I am a mum of 3 beautiful kiddos (10, 7 and 5) and live in rural Victoria with them and my husband.

After a crazy 12 months of losing my sister to a genetic disease, marrying my husband after 13 years together, and finding out 2 weeks ago that I am riddled with endometriosis and am on the waitlist for a hysterectomy due to the severity of it, I am so excited for the end of this year and to have accomplished another course!

My name is Shana and this is my 6th year at studying and it feels almost surreal that I am in my final year! I did the STEPS course, so I've actually been slowly at it for 7 years now. My husband and I have 4 awesome kids, 3 girls 16, 15, 10, and 1 boy 8. We live on my family property that has been in the family for 141 years. We have some cattle, three dogs, a cat, and 6 chickens. I am not entirely sure what area of work I want to go into, maybe remote area nursing. I am half Maori so I would love to return to my motherland Aotearoa one day to live and work with my Mother's people. Studying nursing has the been the best thing I have ever done for myself, it has broadened my worldview, deepened my compassion, and opened up a world of possibilities for me. I am the first in my family to go on to tertiary study too, so my children are my biggest motivators and mentors.
