Johnson on April 11, 1965 as a part of his "War on Poverty." Title I is the largest federally funded educational program. The basic principle of Title 1 is that schools with large concentrations of low-income students will receive supplemental funds to assist in meeting student’s educational goals.

The Parent and Community Engagement section of the CIP provides a summary of parent and community engagement. Some of the strengths listed concerning parent and community engagement include:
Central High School has a wide array of activities that involve parents and also invite community members to campus. Some of these activities include Homecoming, Rally for a Cure, and our Christmas Celebration at CHS that involves the student organizations and activities for the entire family unit. Parent connection on Teacher Access Center provides parents with web-based access to their students’ grades. This is a starting point for parents to consult with students and teachers. Meal Pay Plus is a web-based program allowing parents to view information pertaining to their student’s meal status such as: account balance, food items selected, and the ability to add money to their accounts.

The components of the CIP do appear to support the Goals. However, the goals listed are the goals for the district as a whole, and not for the campus. Basically, the CIP for Central High School has taken the goals for the district and applied them to the campus. For example, for Goal 1 "Provide for Student Achievement at the Highest Level", the CIP for Central basically outlines how central will meet this goal for the district. In my opinion, the goals for Central need to be more specific, and not just a restatement of the district goals.
