Why do you think families in one form or another are found in every culture?

Every societal group includes families to satisfy basic human requirements such as economic security and emotional companionship and childhood development. Through familial structures people raise their children while preserving traditions which guarantee survival. At the family unit individuals initially acquire their understanding of societal standards and ethical principles and method of communication. Every culture maintains an institution that people use for both guidance and support.

Why do you think there are so many different forms of families?

The way families organize themselves differs between cultures because of historical periods alongside economic and social developments. The historical agricultural practices and economic conditions in certain cultures lead to families staying together under one household. Nuclear families rule many societies because of urbanization combined with the industrialization of their economies. Family structure gets influenced strongly by religion combined with government policies as well as established male-female roles. Societies can adapt through flexible family forms when environments and cultural patterns transform.

Examine the deep structure of your culture(s) and explain how it influences intercultural communication.

History along with religion along with social institutions form cultural deep structure that extensively determines the manner in which people communicate between different cultural groups. People in American culture value direct communication and individualism so they learn to share their opinions freely. Many cultures organized by collectivism highlight social harmony above all else which results in distant communication approaches. The assessment of fundamental cultural values enables people to prevent columnHeader-related miscommunication during intercultural exchanges.

How do you think you learned your perceptions of the elderly?

Views I had about senior citizens formed as a result of familial encounters as well as presentations from the media and social norms. Different cultures have distinct opinions about older individuals since some view them with wisdom and respect and others link aging to helplessness. Since childhood I watched my family show respect and care toward their elders so that growing older became associated with gaining wisdom and life experience. Average perceptions of aging become unfavorable because media outlets tend to display seniors negatively which shifts public opinions about the elderly population.
