2. in the first top gun he has a love interest and meets her again. 
3. The students at the bar kick him out because he can't pay and the next morning learn he is there instructor.
4. Rooster does not like maverick because his dad died instead of maverick dying.
5. Iceman dies and cyclone removes maverick from the mission because  the way he wants it done is impossible.
