Jack shows he is a virtuous person throughout the book. Even though he has deceitful actions as he portrays as Ernest and Jack, he uses it to escape the social norms of the time. Jack still demonstrates honesty and integrity. He owns up to his act with Gwendolyn, telling her the truth when she finds out. Even in the beginning, Jack is honest about his "bunburying" to Algernon.
