Hi, my name is Ian, I'm 19 this year. I really like sports, games, music, and movies. I mainly play basketball, football, and something called floorball, don't know if you heard about it. I've also represented KL, in Floorball. For music, I listen to anything, but for now, I've been listening to music from movies. For example, the Tron soundtrack by Daft Punk.

I do not have a brains to study these, merely because I didn't do very well and biology and chemistry, but I do have a certain interest. I have learned a few tips and tricks about life. I will share what I have learn as we go along.

Week 2 (27/5/2021) Dear Past me,

Firstly, there are a few things you need; you don’t need to have all of them but you better have most of them. Family, friends, career, educational goals, plan for time outside work and attention to your mental and physical health, that is what life is about and if you do not have any of those things, well then all you’ve got left is misery and suffering, that’s a bad deal for you. But once you set up that goal structure, and that’s in many ways; that is what you should be doing in university, that’s exactly what you should be doing, which is trying to figure out; who it is that you’re trying to be and you aim at that then mix and use everything you’ve learned as a means of building that person that you want and dream to be. I really mean want to be, I don’t mean should be even though those things are going to overlap and it’s important to distinguish between those.

So, while you’re going to make yourself more industrious, number one specify your damn goals. How are you going to hit something if you don’t know what it is? That isn’t going to happen and how often people won’t specify their goals too, because they don’t like to specify conditions for failure. If you keep yourself all vague and foggy, which is easy because that’s just a matter of not doing as well, then you don’t know when you fail. Then people might say, “well I don’t want to know when I fail because that’s painful; so, I’ll keep myself blind when I fail”, that’s fine, except you’ll fail all the time then. You just won’t know it until you’ve failed so badly that you’re done and washed up. That can easily happen when you’re 40, 20 or at any age. I would recommend that you don’t let that happen, that’s willful blindness, you could have known but you choose not to.

Here are a few rules I have for myself.

"Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not who someone else is today."

I think this helped me a lot. It didn't put as much stress when I compare myself to my sister, friends, etc. I believe, everyday, we do something wrong, or something in correct. We always can be improve. Hell, if you make no mistakes that is called perfect, there is no such thing is this world. So, while you're having breakfast, ask yourself; what did I do yesterday that can be improved today?

There are many things I am grateful for, a lot of those things made me who I am today. I am grateful for my depression, had it when I was 15- 16, and learned a lot during that period. I'm grateful for my dad teaching me how to build, swim, cycle, how to respect women and to never shake a man's hand while sitting down. I'm grateful for a roof above my head and food on the table every night. I'm grateful for my parents giving me education. I'm grateful to have my own room. I was able to go to a decent school, there are people out there that can't. I'm grateful for having internet. I'm thankful for having the friends that I have. I'm grateful for music and movies. I'm lucky to have a amazing girlfriend, and I'm lucky enough to call her mine. I'm thankful for sports and the gym. Also thank god for amazing food and drinks. I'm grateful for being able to travel, also grateful for mother nature for the views. I'm thankful for my parents giving me tough love and trying their best to prepare me for the world. I'm also thankful for the fact that I can see, listen and understand world problems so I know what's going on with the world and how to handle it if I encounter one. I'm grateful for video games, YouTube and Netflix. I'm grateful for the things I've learned and experienced. Lastly, I am so thankful for the people around me and I get to call them, friends and family.

Questions I have. [If easily offended, please do not read.] (Week 5)

I am an atheist. however, I do not shy away from learning or getting some info about religions.

Ultimately, the main thing or person they look up and pray to is god. God is typically being described as being all knowing, all powerful, and all good.

However, when you look back to history, it might say otherwise. There was a earthquake in Lisbon, Portugal. It was around 1755, its called the "The Great Lisbon Earthquake", 80,000 people died. The earthquake took place in all saints day, in the morning. Lisbon being one of the holiest cities in Europe, most people went to church. Churches were the largest building / structures at that time. If you have an earthquake, what's the first building to collapse? Is the ones that are the largest. So, people died in churches. Then, there was a tsunami, that basically whipped Lisbon off the map. So either god is not all good, or god is not all powerful. It's not clear god could be both of those. That's why there is a quote, "If god is all powerful he cannot be all good, if god is all good he cannot be all powerful."

Moving on, there are enlighten religious people that would say, God is the manifestation of the universe, I got no problem with that. But, is god the person who tell you who you should mate with, and on what day you should eat or what kind of food? Is that the same God who made the universe? This is just what I think, I'm sorry if I offend anyone.

I really look up to him want I want his points on a lot of things. Some would consider his word to be extreme, but I would say he is just speaking the truth.

With that said, I would really like to treat him a meal. I would probably have the longest dinner in my life knowing that this is my only opportunity. I would also really like to attend his talks or have him as me teacher for a semester.

I would also ask him for advice for a lot of things, have a friendly conversation. He always checks up on people, someone needs to check up on him too. However overall, I just really want to learn from him and maybe pick up a skill or two.

I've learn a lot about phycology, astrology and politics. I've also learn to be more patient, and humble. Learn to forgive and not take things to personally, and basically careless. Learned that I can never please everyone. Learned how to cook better, and wash dishes faster. I also learned how to be a bar tender, I mix drinks. I also learned a lot about crypto, stock exchange, credit score, credit cards, and how to save money. I think I also do research better and faster, and edit videos a lot faster. I've also learned how to work with what I have. Last thing, I've learned is to stay positive and tell my brain to "shhhh".

I loved the feeling of the pressure and the need to perform. It was my first time and I was so nervous. I was playing a sport called, Floorball. It's not really well known, but I can assure you it's really fun. it wasn't easy to make it to the team, I had to really push myself physically and mentally. I also had to put in a lot of commitment. Being out there with the team is a different feeling. It was amazing and I'm looking forward to it again.

I mean save them from their problems, like depression or anxiety. I had to sit down and talk to them and it was a enjoyable conversation. I really like to help people. I really love it when people come looking for me when they need to talk or need to solve something, I love those moments. I also love it when I can make people smile and just make them feel better. Sometimes people just need to look at things positively or a different perspective. I believe, I am very good at looking at things differently.
