         <description><![CDATA[<div>This step of culture shock is called the " Honeymoon Period " this is when an individual feels an extreme joy and enthusiasm. In, The Absolutely True Diary of A Part Time Indian, the character Junior experiences a " honeymoon period " when he wanted to go to Reardan. This shows how Junior felt the " honeymoon period " because he was excited and was ready to face new challenges to better himself and have better education. He also felt the " honeymoon period " when Penelope was talking to him since Junior wasn't used to seeing girls like her in the reservation. He wasn't used to girls like Penelope because she was a white girl and had blue eyes.  </div>]]></description>

He experienced this by Junior telling rowdy that he is leaving the Rez school and going off reservation. Its common on my rez, on any rez." Junior experiences rejection by the other kids at Reardan laughing at his name and being left out because his name sounds dumb.
