We aim to learn from each step of the and at the same time have fun! Our group initially saw IP, especially our chosen topic, as a big challenge and in a way a burden. However, as we dived into the study, we’ve all really come to love and appreciate the topic (no joke!) we were always enthusiastic to research and writing the paper was not a load but something we were all willing to do.

The reason behind we actually chose this study was because there is actually an established study on using Ixora coccinea against Dalton’s lymphoma and carcinoma tumors in mice that succeeded which then became the basis of our study. However, to view this study, one has to ‘’pay for full version”, limiting our knowledge regarding their study. was enough for us to choose this study and persevere to make it come true to help all those diagnosed with this type of cancer. Furthermore, who would’ve known that the small flowers we see everywhere that we used to make necklaces and bracelets with has the potential to cure cancer! Therefore, this topic really sparked our attention and inspired us to make it come to reality!

However, the Cancer group still leads a long way for besides aiming to see whether the effects of the ethanolic santan flower extract is effective against colorectal carcinoid cancer, we also aim to identify the optimum ethanolic extraction for santan flowers wherein the extract will yield the maximum components of the flower possible.
