<title>Jenny was an elderly woman in her eighties who had recently been diagnosed with dementia. Since her diagnosis she had moved into a care home which had meant that she had had to store many of her possessions at her son’s house.Jenny’s grandson, David, had been rifling through one of her storage boxes when he came across a solid silver photo frame and his grandfather’s military medals. Realising the potential value of these items David phoned his friend, Michael, who was a local antiques dealer. David asked Michael how much he would be prepared to pay for the frame and the medals and told him that he would meet him at the Duck and Pond pub later to seal the deal over a pint.Meanwhile Jenny was settling in well at the care home and had become particularly fond of her carer, Gloria. One day, to say thank you for making her a lovely cup of tea, Jenny gave Gloria her platinum and diamond wedding ring. Gloria knew that she shouldn’t take such an expensive gift from a patient but thought it was about time all her hard work was rewarded and decided to keep the ring. After a long day at the care home, Gloria nipped into the Duck and Pond for a quick after work drink. She handed over a £5 note in payment for a gin and tonic which cost £4.20. The bartender gave her change for £10 and, though she realized the mistake, she said nothing and pocketed the money.Assess David and Gloria’s criminal liability, if any, for theft.</title>
