Belief in Allah (Iman Billah)

Belief in Allah is the foundational pillar of faith in Islam. It means affirming that there is only one God, who is the Creator, Sustainer, and ultimate Judge of everything in existence. This belief encompasses several key concepts:

1. Tawhid (Oneness of Allah): Muslims believe that Allah is One, indivisible, and unique. There is nothing like Him, and He has no partners, children, or equivalents. He is the sole deity worthy of worship.

2. Attributes of Allah: Allah has many beautiful names and attributes (Asma'ul Husna) which describe His nature, such as being All-Knowing, All-Powerful, Merciful, Just, and Everlasting. Muslims believe that Allah is beyond human comprehension, yet His qualities are manifested in the world around us.

3. Allah's Role: Allah is the creator of everything that exists and has complete control over the universe. Muslims believe that everything happens according to His will and wisdom, and that He alone has the power to give life and take it away.

Belief in the Angels (Iman Bil Mala'ika)

Belief in angels is another core aspect of Islamic faith. Angels are unseen beings created by Allah from light, and they serve various roles in executing Allah's commands in the universe.

1. Nature of Angels: Unlike humans, angels have no free will and are entirely obedient to Allah. They do not sin or disobey Him, and they are not subject to human needs like eating or sleeping.

2. Roles of Angels: Each angel has specific duties. For example:

Jibril (Gabriel): The angel responsible for delivering revelation to the prophets, including the Quran to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Mikail (Michael): The angel responsible for providing sustenance, such as rain and food for living creatures.

Israfil: The angel who will blow the trumpet to signal the Day of Judgment.

Malik and Ridwan: Angels in charge of Hell and Heaven, respectively.

Recording Angels: Each person is assigned two angels who record their good and bad deeds throughout their life.

3. Interactions with Humans: Though humans cannot see angels, they are always present, fulfilling their duties. For example, angels protect, guide, and record deeds, while others, like Jibril, have delivered messages directly to the prophets.

Belief in the Prophets (Iman Bil Rusul)

Belief in the prophets is a key element of Islamic faith. Muslims believe that Allah sent prophets and messengers to guide humanity and convey His message of worship and righteousness.

1. Purpose of Prophets: Prophets are chosen by Allah to call people to His worship and to live righteous lives. They remind people of Allah’s commands and lead by example. Prophets are sent to different nations at different times to deliver the same essential message: belief in One God and the guidance to live a moral life.

2. The Prophets: Muslims believe in all the prophets mentioned in the Quran, including:

Adam: The first prophet and human being.

Noah (Nuh), Abraham (Ibrahim), Moses (Musa), and Jesus (Isa): Great prophets who brought divine scriptures and laws to their communities.

Muhammad (peace be upon him): The final prophet, through whom the final revelation, the Quran, was delivered. Muslims believe that no prophet will come after him, and his message is for all of humanity.

3. Common Message: All prophets preached the same fundamental message of monotheism (Tawhid), calling their people to worship Allah alone and to follow His guidance. While they had different laws and scriptures (e.g., Torah, Psalms, Gospel), their core message was always consistent.

4. Respect for Prophets: Muslims hold all prophets in high regard and honor them, but they do not worship them. Instead, prophets are considered the best of humanity, chosen by Allah to deliver His messages.

---

Together, these three beliefs—belief in Allah, His angels, and His prophets—form a central part of the faith and guide Muslims in their understanding of the universe, their purpose in life, and the path to salvation.

Belief in Prophets (Rasul): Muslims believe that God sent prophets like Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad (peace be upon them) to guide people. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the last prophet. There are many things that can be learn from the prohet And one of the lessons of why prophets and apostles were sent down to mankind is that we can emulate them.

2. Belief in the Books (Kitab): Muslims believe in the holy books sent by God, such as the Torah, Psalms, Gospel, and the Qur'an. The Qur'an is the final and complete book, which hasn't changed over time. The Quran is proof of the prophethood of our prophet (pbuh). And in the previous books it has been stated about the evidence of the coming of the last prophet

3. Belief in the Hereafter (Akhirah): Muslims believe in life after death. On the Day of Judgment, everyone will be judged for their actions. At that time the human people were in the field of mahsyar in a very hot state. Every human being will be judged for his good and bad. May we be among those who believe in Allah.

Hadis jibril: The Hadith of Jibril is one of the most profound and enlightening moments in Islamic tradition, offering a clear framework for understanding faith, spirituality, and the afterlife. Imagine the scene: the companions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) were sitting with him one day when a mysterious man, dressed in pure white with strikingly black hair, approached. There was no sign of travel on him, which was strange because, in the desert environment, anyone coming from a journey would have shown signs of fatigue or dust.

This man, without hesitation, sat directly in front of the Prophet, placing his knees against the Prophet's knees and his hands on his thighs, a gesture of closeness and respect. He then asked, with a tone that demanded attention, “O Muhammad, tell me about Islam.”

The Prophet responded with the pillars of Islam, explaining that Islam is to testify that there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is His Messenger, to perform prayers, to give zakat (charity), to fast during Ramadan, and to perform the pilgrimage (Hajj) if able.

The man then asked, “Tell me about Iman (faith).” The Prophet responded by describing the core beliefs of Islam: belief in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Day of Judgment, and divine predestination (both good and bad).

Next, the man inquired, “Tell me about Ihsan (excellence).” The Prophet explained that Ihsan is to worship Allah as though you see Him, for though you do not see Him, He sees you. This elevated form of worship calls for sincerity and mindfulness, a deeper connection beyond ritual.

Finally, the man asked about the Hour, or the Day of Judgment. The Prophet replied that neither he nor anyone else knows when it will occur. The man then left, as mysteriously as he had appeared.

After the man departed, the Prophet asked his companions if they knew who the questioner was. They were unsure, and the Prophet revealed, "That was Jibril (Gabriel), who came to teach you your religion."

This story is significant because it presents the three dimensions of Islam—Islam (outward submission), Iman (inward belief), and Ihsan (spiritual excellence)—in a clear, structured way. It also serves as a reminder that true faith goes beyond just practicing rituals; it encompasses a deep internal connection with the Creator and a constant striving for spiritual excellence. Through this profound conversation, Jibril was not just asking for his own understanding but teaching the companions and future generations the essence of the Islamic faith.

Ihsan refers to doing something with excellence, kindness, and sincerity, especially in one’s relationship with Allah and others. The stories of Prophets Nuh, Yusuf, and Ibrahim demonstrate ihsan in the way they dealt with trials and adversities, all while maintaining their unwavering faith and integrity.

Nabi Nuh (Noah)

The story of Nabi Nuh is a great example of ihsan in the face of persistent rejection. Nabi Nuh was sent to guide his people towards the worship of one God, but for 950 years, he faced ridicule, rejection, and opposition from his people, including members of his own family. Despite their disbelief, Nuh continuously showed compassion and patience. He never gave up on calling them to the right path with kindness.

Nuh’s commitment to fulfilling Allah’s command to build the Ark also showed ihsan. Even though he faced mockery while building the Ark, he did it with full dedication and trust in Allah’s plan. His devotion and perseverance in calling people to the truth without faltering in his mission is a sign of ihsan in his actions, as he was seeking the pleasure of Allah above everything else.

Nabi Yusuf (Joseph)

The story of Nabi Yusuf beautifully reflects ihsan in his life, especially in his treatment of others, even those who wronged him. Yusuf was betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, and later imprisoned unjustly. Yet, throughout all his hardships, Yusuf showed kindness, integrity, and trust in Allah.

In the house of the Egyptian official where he was a servant, Yusuf behaved with excellence, winning the trust and respect of those around him. Even when faced with the temptation of Zulaikha (the wife of the official), Yusuf acted with ihsan by refusing her advances, choosing the path of righteousness over personal gain.

Later, when Yusuf was wrongfully imprisoned, he didn’t lose hope or become bitter. Instead, he continued to exhibit ihsan by helping his fellow prisoners, interpreting their dreams, and maintaining his devotion to Allah.

When he eventually rose to power as a high-ranking official in Egypt, Yusuf displayed ihsan once again when his brothers came to him seeking help during the famine. Despite their betrayal, Yusuf forgave them, showed them kindness, and provided for them without seeking revenge, demonstrating ihsan in the highest form.

Nabi Ibrahim (Abraham)

Nabi Ibrahim’s life is a reflection of ihsan in his unwavering faith in Allah and his willingness to sacrifice everything for the sake of pleasing Allah. One of the most notable examples of ihsan in Ibrahim's story is his response to Allah's command to sacrifice his son, Ismail. Though this was an unimaginable trial, Ibrahim approached it with complete submission and trust in Allah’s wisdom. His willingness to carry out Allah’s command, no matter how difficult, showed his devotion to excellence in his obedience to Allah.

In his interactions with others, Ibrahim also showed ihsan. When he was thrown into the fire by his people for rejecting idol worship, he didn’t harbor resentment but instead placed his trust in Allah, and Allah saved him. Even in his dialogue with his father, who rejected his message and threatened him, Ibrahim spoke gently and kindly, as mentioned earlier. This shows ihsan in how he treated his father with respect and patience, despite their differences in belief.

Additionally, Ibrahim was known for his generosity and hospitality. When strangers visited his home, he didn’t hesitate to offer them food and the best of what he had, even though they were angels in disguise. This act of kindness reflects ihsan in how he treated others.

The adab of learning is a crucial principle in Islamic education. According to Imam Al-Ghazali, adab serves as the foundation for acquiring beneficial knowledge. This includes respecting teachers, seeking permission before learning, and maintaining humility in the pursuit of knowledge. Allah states in Surah Al-Mujadila (58:11), "Allah will raise those who have believed among you and those who were given knowledge by degrees." This verse highlights the importance of both knowledge and the proper etiquette in its pursuit.

The Qur'an, as the primary source of Islamic teachings, plays a significant role in shaping the character and morals of a Muslim. Engaging with its verses and understanding their context helps individuals lead a more responsible and fulfilling life. Thus, every student should develop a deep love and respect for the Qur'an, striving to implement its teachings in their daily lives.

The Virtues of Salah with Khushuk(Concentration & Humility)

Praying with full concentration and humility not only strengthens our connection with Allah but also shapes our character and daily life. Here are some of the key virtues cultivated through Ṣalāh:

1. Submission to Allah

Salah deepens our obedience to Allah, reminding us of our purpose and reinforcing our devotion to Him. It strengthens our faith and keeps our hearts aligned with His guidance.

2. A Spiritual Struggle (Al-Jihad)

Focusing in prayer isn’t always easy, it requires effort to fight distractions and stay present. This struggle is a form of spiritual jihad, where we train our minds and hearts to remain devoted to Allah.

3. Self-Reflection (Muhasabah)

Prayer is a moment to pause and reflect on our actions, seek forgiveness, and strive for self-improvement. It encourages us to check in with ourselves spiritually and make positive changes.

4. Modesty & Self-Restraint (ʿIffah)

Consistently praying with khushul nurtures purity of heart and mind. It builds self-discipline and keeps us away from sinful behavior, making us more mindful of our actions.

5. Humility (Tawaduk)

Bowing and prostrating remind us of our complete dependence on Allah. Through prayer, we let go of pride and develop a genuine sense of humility.

By embracing these virtues, Salah becomes more than just a ritual, it transforms our character, strengthens our faith, and helps us live with integrity.
