Running Dictation

1. You will find 10 key terms on your desk. Outside the classroom, there are definitions and pictures corresponding to these terms. Your goal is to match the terms with both pictures and definitions.

   
   

2. Group Roles

   • 1 Answer Checker;

   • 1 Runner for Definition;

   • 1 Runner for Picture;

   • 1 Matcher;

     
     

3. "Runner for Definition"

   One member from your group will go out of classroom to remember definitions and come back to recite the definition to the matcher. Do not take the definition papers back with you! Copying the definition down using pens or cell phones are against the rules!

4. "Runner for Picture"

   One member from your group will leave the classroom and go out of classroom for pictures that are corresponding to the key words. You can only bring back one picture at a time!

5. "Matcher"

   Two members are responsible for writing down what the runners definition down and match the corresponding key words and pictures up.

6. "Answer Checker"

   The rest of the team needs to check for any mistakes that other team members might have made accidentally.

• Each group will be assigned with a section of coursebook material from a CIE subject (Math, English, Physics and Economics).

  
  

• Using Padlet, design a teaching plan for a revision class according to the assigned material (20 minutes).

  
  

• You are strongly encouraged to implement coorperative learning in your teaching plan.

  
  

• The content of your teaching plan should include:

  • Warming-up

  • Prior knowledge checking

  • Solidification

  • Wrap-up & Assignment

• After finishing your design, a representative from each group will present your teaching plan briefly (1 minute per group).

  
  

• After each group has finished presenting, teachers will return to your subject group to discuss how to implement active learning and coorperative learning in future lessons (3 minutes).
