This is SugarHouse Barbeque, a once very popular grub house for people in the Salt Lake City area. This place is about 7-8 minutes away from where I live. The main reason I chose this location is because the minute this buisness shut down, vandals covered the East wall in graffiti (I could not get a picture of the side with graffiti because there is construction on the east side and you cannot walk on that side). This area would greatly benefit from cleanup, but most importantly I believe it would benefit from a new business buying the property and a complete remake of the space.

This boys and girls club is a very popular space for parents to send their children to participate in their after school program. I actually chose this space for two main reasons, the first being that I went to a boys and girls club in three different states in which I lived and I believe it is an incredible program. The other reason being that it is a popular area for homeless people to hang out. In this picture specifically there is actually a few "camps" set up to the left that I cut out since people were sleeping outside. Homelessness is a huge problem in this area and I believe that it needs more attention from the community, and local government/police. Providing safe spaces for these people to go would eliminate their need to invade other spaces that belong to other businesses/people.

The UTA S-Line is a unique public transportation option for people in Sugar House/South Salt Lake. The reason that it is unique is that it does not travel long distances like your typical front runner, or trax lines, and it also runs almost directly through a neighboorhood. It only has 9 stops and is a very practical option that can get you to the main trax line, or your neighborhood destination very easily. The main reason I chose this location is because it actually causes a lot of traffic back up both vehicular and pedestrian wise. I have been stuck at an intersection behind the S-line for up to 7 minutes before, and this has caused several accidents that are entirely preventable, which is something that local law enforcement is actually working on. I suspect this issue will be resolved within the next month or so which is exciting, but like I said it needs some work.

This neighborhood that I walked through was completely different from mine which was really interesting! I really enjoyed being able to explore and see more of this area that I am new to. Like I said I am excited to see how this area develops over time, and becomes a safer, more inviting place to be and to walk through!
