The students are interacting with each other, taking notes and recording data/observations, and driving their own learning experience. Then, at the end, they are communicating their thoughts and ideas based on scientific discovery of the data. The teacher is encouraging the students, enusring safety, redirecting, and sitting back and enjoy the show when his kids finally understand what he wanted them to all along :)

1. The students are working with their classmates in order to answer an essential question - this is done through group work, discussion and working outside in order to actually do science.
2. The teacher is guiding the lesson, instead of just lecturing to the students. He is asking questions to prompt student thinking.
