Marketing -The role of someone who is a marketing director manager in the performing arts industry involved in a show is to make people aware of their shows in the present and future, this includes creating artwork creating leaflets and posters paying for adverts in media to promote the jobs. They are also in charge of selling merchandise to get more money for the production company selling things like t-shirts, mugs, bags, and so much more.
Within the marketing team there is so much to think about we have poster and program designer, bios for each of the performers, headshots, projection photos, box office, running order and stage manger.
The marketing team consists of Emily and Emma. Marketing have a big job they are the people who will promote and also design programs and posters to promote the show and Galluppi audiences to watch to make money intentionally for the show marketing aspect inside for the show is very important as without marketing there is no way of promotion. There is no way of programs being designed and also the organisation of the show as marketing will also help with the performance marketing side and how to encourage the performers and the performances as a whole to be put out there. Emma and Emily both worked on dates and admin for when everyone needed to give there, bios and headshots required so Emily, who is designing the program can put them into the finished design.

Program designer- The program designer is a role which is in charge of designing the program for the performance using different graphics info and styles through digital use to create a readable and exciting program. They will be required to sort out programs and make sure that the marketing team have programs and also can promote the programs. The designers are a big contributor to the marketing team as the program is usually one of the first things you tend bio pick up at the theatre and you can see production as me having a program is on the most important things because I love to look and read through the musical history. How the production was created, who the actors are and what school they were trained at. With me, music was the something that really got me interested in the performing arts industry. Looking at a program it was so in-depth and exciting, I love reading them and also keeping them as souvenir which I find it such a humble gift to take with you specially from saying that production having a program with you from that night so special and is definitely a big element of a show. 

Street performer -
A street performer also known as a busker in the performing arts industry have the role of performing in public. Most street performers perform their art in all the big cities and towns, London is well known for the amount of street performers who perform there. There are many roles under a street performer (busker) for example a street dancer, musician, poet, fire eater, juggler, puppeteer and so many more.

Dancer -A dancer’s role/job in the performing arts industry is performing one or a variety of different styles, for example ballet, tap, street, modern, jazz, ballroom and contemporary either performing in musicals as backing dancers or main solo numbers or performing on cruise ships. Many working dancers in the industry work nonstop practicing and rehearsing all day every hour until performing, even after they have performed, they are expected to keep on training. In conclusion, this is how some dancers manage to get injuries as they are on their feet leaping, jumping, doing lifts and kicks all day everyday keeping fit and up to speed with knowing the choreography inside and out. 


Production roles

Set designer -the role off a set designer in the performing arts. A set designer is in charge creating and designing sets that appear in live theatre. Set designers must have the element off creativity and the help and guide off directors and script writers to create the perfect set for that show. The designer’s work can vary depending on how big the space they are given with e.g. the size off the stage and auditorium, they are constantly creating new and more idea’s to add to either the musical they are working on or new jobs ahead.

Makeup artist -A makeup artist working in the performing arts industry have a very large important role to fulfill in the industry. Their job is to apply makeup to a performers face or body to create an image of their character they are playing, also to reflect on the setting they are in the time period they are living and the situation that character maybe facing, Also to show weather the production is set in the 17 th century or whether its set in modern day. Makeup artists use a large sized tool set of brushes and products to create complexed artistry on the face to make an astronomical masterpiece to be shown on stage that shows the audience an understanding off belief when watching a show. Makeup artists must apply the makeup to stand out and enhance natural features this is because when seated in a large auditorium seated at the very back you want to be able to see the performers makeup and especially their facial expressions when watching. Makeup artists achieve this by working on a performer’s makeup for a long period of time this can take up hours of time to give a real and authentic look which people can see in depth and detail from further away. In conclusion makeup artists use their talent with art to apply a collection of products to turn and modify the performer to becoming their character.

Prop maker -A prop maker in the performing arts industry have the role/job of making and designing props the actors or for display on sets. The props can be made out of lots of different materials to show the curtain time period/era the show is set in. Props are very important to have in any production this is because they show a realism aspect to a show for example a walking stick for a actor who is playing a old woman which brings the actor and the character together for the production to come to life. The props can be anything from cups, candles, books, animals, weapons. Furthermore, in conclusion to this prop designer’s work with a production team to ensure that the props are making an authentic match to set design. For example, in a scene set in a living room in the Victorian era the prop designer would have to match the props to the set designer’s choice of color and fabrics. An example of this would be the walls in the living room which could be old polished oak wood so the prop designer would have to think about what color the sofas fabric would so there are no clashing colors and it all looks real.

Wig maker-The wig makers role/job in the performing arts industry invloed in a show is one of the job profiles which people might not be aware of. A wig maker completes the work of wig making for characters in productions. They use wigs as when a performer is working eight shows a week every night using straighteners or curlers and hair spray every day to achieve a characters look, this can be very damaging to the hair so wigs are used in replacement for this for the performers to be able to look the part and have the hair done up for that role without damaging their own. Wig makers have a very important job to fill they work with the directors to create the perfect wig for that specific show and characters like makeup artists wig makers have to make the wig to look as authentic as possible to suit the time, genre and era that the show is set in.

Administrator roles

Box office manager -The Box office manager role/job in the performing arts industry involed in a show works primarily works with the general public. The manger is in charge to prepare schedules, supervise interns and act as the first linecustomer service representative. They work with finance and tickets and are in front of house in the boxes of the theater collecting information on what show your seeing giving, scanning or printing tickets.


events manager-The role/job role of the events manager in the performing arts industry involved in a show. Events management deals with the administrative tasks and strategies associated with organizing and managing any kind of performing arts event for example comedy gigs, music gigs, plays and musical. They arrange this by contacting the production company’s suggesting different venues they can perform at. Learners will play a part in the events team ensuring the venue is set up as outlined in the event plan and resources are secured. As part of the events management team, learners will be the first point of contact for concerns and issues that are raised and help with their resolution.  Furthermore, this will include dealing with the public and ensuring customer and client satisfaction. The final stage is managing the set back and strike and return of equipment and resources used within the event and complying with legal and contractual requirements. Media manger -A media manger in the performing arts industry has the role/job role of advertising the how on social media for example Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat and so on. Social networking has changed the performing arts industry by advertising to millions through its online posts. Now fans of that particular show can keep up with date with daily posts that the media manger will organize. They can now show some behind the scenes action and this is what gets people coming to see the
