After obtaining his undergraduate degree, Pastor David J. Seifert earned his master of arts degree, focusing on the New Testament, from the California Graduate School of Theology in 1971. From 1972 to 1976 he attended Western Graduate School of Theology, where he pursued a doctor of ministry with an emphasis on church growth. While attending the two programs over a seven year period, he served as a youth and assistant pastor at Grace Brethren Church, teaching several classes to graduate students.

Pastor David J. Seifert led the Greater Modesto Ministerium for 20 years. He also served on the board of Medical Ambassadors for six years alongside World Link Ministries. The latter is an evangelical ministry that produces church planters through theological training centers in many countries.
