As the conclusion from the meeting, I had been assigned to be in sales department for this time being. I also acknowledge the full products that Destination Perak have.

There are so much that I need to read and review due to the lot of attractions in Perak.

After lunch break, my supervisor had gave a new task for me to translate the guidelines of "How to develop a tourism package in 10 steps?" in Bahasa Melayu. 

The reason that my supervisor asked me to do the translating was because he wanted to make the villagers or SME entrepreneurs understand the guidelines easier.

Then, we joining the sales meeting that discussed about sales strategies regarding DPSB website. The sales team are required to help the web designer to complete the website with product data and photos.
By doing this, I get the chance to learn how to put the data into the website.

Besides completing the website, I also joining the meeting that discussed about the sale strategies during MITA next week. My supervisor briefed us about the location of the MITA fair, the strategies and the task we need to complete before the event. 

Although I had a busy day, I feel happy because I get the chance to contribute to the company and also learn new things.

During the task, we faced some difficulties to find the data however, we think it as a challenge to complete our task.

Before we go back, we got another task to do. We help our senior to arrange the flyer into DPSP sale kit because tomorrow they have press conference about the MATTA fair. So, in order to make sure the sale kit are complete we had to work overtime.

This task enhance my courage to talk with others via telephone so I will be able to do the sales call soon. HOPEFULLY!!! :p

The first task that I get today is to find the information about the tourism calendar of Perak such as the durian season, rain season and so on in order to help my collegue completing his sale kit for team building. However, he give me permission to do this task tomorrow because I have another urgent task to do.

The urgent task that  we need to do is to find the list of bicycle club in Perak and other region to invite them to join the Ipoh Cycle Fest event that DPSB will organized in March. I tried to search the government bicycle club and NGOs through Google and Facebook.

While I doing my task, our supervisor had called us for sale meeting. En Hisham conducted this meeting is to explain about the final strategies and the requirement that we need to fulfil before going to MITA Fair this weekend. The meeting run for almost 3 hours and all my colleague had got their own task for the event. My intern partner and I just going to help them if needed.

I also got other task from my colleague, Kak Nisa. She asked me to do the booking form of Houseboat 2017 in Excel so she can fill it easily.

 After thumb scan the attendance, I directly continuing my task yesterday which is to find out the season at Perak. It is quite difficult because it have no specific date or reference to be referred. However, I tried my best to get the information needed. 

Today, I also need to find out about all cycling event that will be held in Malaysia until April so my senior colleague can do the promotion about the Ipoh Cycle Fest.

After lunch, I got another task which I have to convert the price of the packages from RM to USD. I had to convert almost 60 packages in a day... IT IS SO TIRING!!!!!!

When it is almost time to go home, there are still a lot of work need to be done for the MITA Fair and trip to Royal Belum tomorrow so we need to stayback for overtime. I helped to do the timetable for the participants at Royal Belum so there will no problem for room distribution later. After that, I continue to cut the vouchers to bring to the MITA Fair. I had experienced the chaotic situation before the big event because there were so much to do in order to make sure all plan run smoothly.

We got home at 8.30 pm after done help all my colleague.

Our supervisor also asked us to do some research about the app for the schedule and booking for our houseboat packages. It is quite challenging for us because we do not familiar with the app however we try our best.

Next, I helped in preparing the materials for the MATTA FAIR meeting in DPSB. I helped to print out, stapler the papers and organized it. There were almost 30 person involved in the meeting.

After that, my supervisor asked my internmate and I to do so research about the apps regarding the houseboat booking and schedule. We need to find the apps that can be used to connect the management team and the vendors of houseboat so we can easily get the schedule of available houseboat. 
However, we can't find the suitable apps so we try to come out with the idea of new ways to get the information. We also try the google drive, google forms and others. 

Now, we still going through the apps to see any chance of using the available apps.

After a while, I managed to find the suitable apps for the schedule which is TEAM UP CALENDAR. 

So, I explore the task to make sure it is easy to use and access. I also refer to my senior to check whether she agree or not with my choice. By using this apps, the operation team will easily get the information of the availability houseboat because the houseboat vendors can easily update the schedule. 

After lunch, the highlight activity of the day is the sale & marketing training. Mr Helmi is invited to train and brief us about the strategies and tips on how to approach customers and close the sale. He also taught us about the sale cycle. There is so many input that we get during the sharing session. 

I believe that we can use all the tips and advice for our next events.
I feel so excited and so full of spirit.

Next, we help our colleague to prepare the flyer to send to Tourism Perak for an event in KLIA tomorrow.

Then, my colleague had asked us to help them to brainstorm about the activities that suitable for the treasure hunt for our customers. The age range of the customers are between 44- 60 years old so we need to find activities that suit their physical abilities.

Today, I have been working on one task regarding the treasure hunt slot for teambuilding trip for Tabung Haji. 

My senior colleague, internmate and I had been discussing about the activities and task for the treasure hunt from the morning until lunch hour. We were discussed about the suitable task for every checkpoint along the Ipoh heritage trail. We used Runningman's games as our reference to choose the perfect task for each checkpoint. 

We also discussed about the relevance checkpoint in order to make sure the participants do not have any difficulties during the treasure hunt. After we had done with our discussion, I had been asked to list down the equipment and the suitable instruction to use during the treasure hunt. We need to make sure all the equipment was in the list so we can make full preparation.

Last but not least, we joined the sales meeting that discussed on the final strategies for MATTA FAIR next week.

After that, we had been assigned to cut the Orang Utan Island's ticket. There were 300 tickets for adults and 100 tickets for children.  We had doing this all day long. 

During that task, we had been asked to join the final meeting for MATTA Fair 2017. So, we continue our task during the meeting.We also had went home late  because we had overtime.

We also help Cik Emy to do schedule for PATRO booking and find the database of  education institution that offer agriculture courses. So, Ayu had done the booking schedule using TEAMUP CALENDAR application that we had explored before and I did the database searching.

Today, I just helped Kak Emy did the sentences for email blast and answering calls. A lot of calls were intended to some person in charge who were not in the office so I just take note and details from the caller and will be given to the PIC later.

In order to occupied my time in the office today, I started to do my internship report. I started with the company profile of DPSB. I gathered the information through internet and from the company profile pamplets.

Today was a busy day. We need to settle the preparation for tonight event, The Mini Travel Mart and dinner with delegation from India.

We started our task in the morning by continue making our goodies bag from yesterday. We put another flyer, coffee sachets, 'murukku' and Labu Sayong as additional souvenir for the VIP guests.

After that, I type the list name of guests for tonight to be put on the chair so guest can easily find the sit. After that, we search about 'murukku' description through internet in order to put on the 'murukku' containers.

Then, we continue to cut the materials for the exhibitions of BtoB (Business to Business) session. The situation was so hectic because so much preparation need to be done..
We need to put the goodies bag , props, banners and so on in the X-Trails to be brought to the venue.

PART 2

The event started at 8pm but we had to be there at 6 pm to make sure all preparation were set up properly.

First, we joined to assist for BtoB session. We incharged for Ipoh Cycle Fest (ICF) booths. We helped to pass the brochure and flyers and helped our senior (Hadi) to give explanation to the guests.

After the BtoB session finish, we waited for the guests to have dinner.
The event finish at 12am but we got back to home at 1am because we need to pack up all props that we brought.
I was so exhausted but it was a good experience for me.

The purpose for this meeting was to discussed on the related issues of sales that will be present tomorrow. Tomorrow meeting will discuss about the company progress and achievement for the first quarter of 2017.

Some of the issues were about the sales and database of customers from MITA and MATTA Fair, website problems, product development and the changes of the Destination Perak organisation.

During the meeting, en Hisham had mentioned about the strategies that successful and unsuccessful for the first quarter.
He also mentioned that we need to come out with the new strategies for the second quarter in order to increase sales.

Other than that, we also did the recall session about Perak's attraction in order to refresh everyone memory.

After that, we continued to discuss about the role up for the Teamup Calendar apps. Our superior asked us to do to so he can show it to the district officer next week.

After a while, we had decided to do two templates of the roll up and let our superior decide which one to use. We had done the normal and flyer template for the roll up. The information that we included in the roll up were about the specialities of the apps and how to use it.

Then, we got another task which was regarding the Ipoh Cycle Fest event. Our marketing senior,Hadi had asked us to incharge the booth on the PTTC's lobby tomorrow and a day after. In order to in charge for the booth, we need to have full information about ICF. 

So, we need to do some research and revision about ICF event. We gathered the information through ICF website, flyer and we also asked our senior about it.

There were quite many people visit our booth and ask about ICF and other package like Royal Belum and teambuilding. 

We gained new experience by conducting this booth. We got to explain to the visitor about ICF and other attraction.

Then, we went for the room inspection. We visited various types of room like executive suite, twin sharing, super deluxe and others.

Both of us got new information about the real environment of handling hotels and customers. We met great people who are expert in managing sales of hotels room. Mr Jerry Tan from The Weil Hotel and Mr Amin Ali from M Boutique Group. Both of them are assistant sales manager. They gave us a lot of information and explained about their hotel's facilities and amenities very well.

After that, we followed Kak Nisa for other hotel inspection. Today we went to Ipoh Bali Hotel. Ipoh Bali Hotel is a hotel that apply Bali concept in its design and decoration. It has 12 rooms that very comfortable and at reasonable price.

Then, after we arrived at the office, our supervisor had gave us other task which are to gather information about homestay at Meru and Tambun area for the Ipoh Cycle Fest event.

For the explanation on "How to Develop Tourism Packages- for DPSB (internal) and Product owner (external)", I need to give full explanation on the 10 Steps on How To Develop Tourism Package that I had been translated before. It was quite difficult because I need to gave example and make sure readers can understand it.

For the Destination Marketing Management Organization (DMMO) Flowcharts, I need to do some research before I can develop the flowchart. I need to read the research from other researcher and understand it first. 

Despite all challenges, I was able to complete my task before 5pm and submit it to her. However, she need to check it first and will let me know if there is any correction need to be done.

We had a group from Syahadah Trail that took 3 days 2 night package at Royal Belum. The trip was a collaboration with MOTAC Perak. There were almost 60 pax that joined the trip.

After we had sent the group at Royal Belum Jetty and the had got into the houseboat, we left and moved to Belum Rainforest Resort (BRR) to meet Raja Kamal, the CEO of BRR to discuss for the next trip that will stay at BRR. The hospitality at BRR was so nice and very welcoming.

There were so much input that we got from this trip because we got new experiences to be in the houseboat and meet influence person in Perak tourism. We were so happy to join this trip.

As our head of sales, En Hisyam brief and explained about our task during the event, I got to be in his team and will be conducting the distribution of race kit to the participant and assist during the welcoming dinner. We also will be helping the other team to prepare the material for DPSB booth. 

Ayu and I also got other new task which both of us need to develop the summary or description about destination in Perak as the cover or introduction for DPSB's packages. We need to complete it before 10th May because they wanted to bring it to Indonesia.

As for the Picnic Day @ Patro, there will be some changes on the itinerary and progress. The date of the event also might be change due to some technical risks.

Today, most of the DPSB and XCamp staff were at X Park for the final preparation of booths, stage, track and so on. 

Therefore, there were only a few of us that left at the office so we need to in charge of the office. Basically we just picked up call and took note from customers and participants of ICF.

Tomorrow and the next day will be more hectic because we need to handle the welcoming dinner and registration of participants at the X Camp.

The day had came.
We arrived at Xtreme Park at 9 a.m. and waited for others to come. After that, we followed Kak Nisa for inspection at Lost World of Tambun to check the preparation for GFNY dinner during night.

Then, we joined the briefing session that conducted by En Hisham. En. Hisham had briefed us on the event flow such as the launching, dinner and others.

After took a break for lunch and solat, we went to LWOT to prepare for the dinner. We set the registration table and waited for the guest to arrive. The dinner started at 8.30 p.m and end at 10.30 p.m.

At 11 p.m we went back to Xtreme Park to prepare for the launching event tomorrow. We had to do a lot of things before the launching like prepared the podium, goodies for media and VIP and table for lunch and press conference. We went home at our homestay at 2.30 a.m.

PART 2
We went to Xtreme Park at 6.30 a.m and started to set up the booth to sell our packages. Ayu and I in charged of the booth until our senior arrived. 

After that, we joined the launching and flag off ceremony. The event was been launched by Dato' Nolee.  

At the end of the event, we joined the prize giving ceremony before we home at 3pm. 

As the conclusion, the event was succeed. 
Now, lets focus on ICF event this week!!!!

There were so many issues that still not complete so the team members need to make sure their duties done before this weekend.

After that, I continued update the contract rates from Furama Kuala Lumpur hotel and Rockbund  Resort.

Ayu and I also helped En Azam unpacked the things from the event last weekend.

The ICF started since friday until sunday at Bulatan Amanjaya and other places like Xcamp, Hutan Lipur Kinta and Town Hall.
Ayu and I had been assigned to in charge for DPSB booth at Bulatan Amanjaya. So at 10 am,  we brought all equipment and material from office to the booth and set up. We also had been assigned to in charge for Pegro booth that sold mango juice, 'kerepek', rendang and 'jamu'.

Beside that, I also helped Hadi to cut and arrange the race bit for the ICF participants. There were a lot of race bit that we had to cut in 2 hours period.
After settled assist Hadi, I continue my task at the booth. However, the weather was not good and it was heavily rained so we need to pack up our things and waited for the rain to stop. The booth was close at 10 pm.

SATURDAY
Again, we set up the booth at 10 am and entertained customers that visited our booth. On this day,  some race like BMX, Holy Crit and others had started since 6 am at Town Hall.

SUNDAY
The last day of ICF. We set up both booth at 10 am and waited for the visitors. After that, En Azam had called me and asked me to assist him at the office. He asked me to help him put the money for the ICF prizes in envelope, count the numbers of prizes and some other tasks.

After I done helped him, I went to Mydin to buy things that En Azam had asked before I returned to the booth. 
The event ended at 9 pm.

There were papers, files and stationery everywhere. Everyone were busy and did not have time to clean all the mess so Ayu and I helped to throw all the rubbish and arrange back the files and stationery.

Today is quite busy day because the finance department need to compile all details about the account regarding the ICF event. So, En Azam asked Ayu and I to assist Zurul on the ICF account. 
We checked all documents related to ICF such as the payment voucher, charge card voucher, petty cash voucher and others. 
 
Beside that, we also had meeting with all staff to discuss on the further sales activities of DPSB. En Hisham also suggested a retreat day for all staff in this month.

I followed Farah to Casuarina to arrange all the materials and things that we used during Ipoh Cycle Fest. After that, we went to X-Camp at Tambun to pick up ICF lanyard for Tourism Malaysia group tomorrow.

EVENING
I key in the details of survey for MyCEB.

The discussion was attended by representative from Destination Perak, PKNP and the contractors.
The present Balai Gambang will be under refurbishment process for 7 weeks before it can be use back to its normal operation.

We also  visited Jabatan Pengairan dan Saliran jetty to look at the suitable port for contractor to repair Balai Gambang. 
During the discussion, I got the chance to take a ride on Balai Gambang. It was a good experience because I also got a chance to hear the story about Perak by the boatman along our journey. He also showed us the houses that had been used in some film like Hantu Kak Limah Balik Kampung and Zombi Kampung Pisang. 

After I got back from Kuala Kangsar, I got another task from Sufian. He asked me to call all winner for Ipoh Cycle Fest event to make confirmation on the account number before we transfer the prize money to them.

We also get to know other new SME's businessmen and businesswomen that so passionate to expand their business.

We went for the Half Day package of Art & Heritage Trail @ cruise. The first checkpoint for this tour is at the Masjid Ubudiah before we go to Istana Kuala Kangsar to take some pictures.

After that, we go to Galeri Sultan Azlan Shah to see the stuff and belonging of Sultan Azlan Shah and Permaisuri Bainun from their past. Some of the things that had been displayed such as the souvenirs that Sultan Azlan Shah got from his visit to other countries, his books from his study in law, cars, clothes and so on.

Tehn, we go to see Keris making at Pak Mazin's place. Pak Mazin is one of the certified keris maker in Malaysia. He had made many keris for Sultan Melayu like Sultan Perak and Sultan Kelantan.

We also go to see Labu Sayong process. The group had the chances to try making Labu Sayong by themselves. They all settle the tour at 3pm before they depart to Penang for next tour.

Beside that, on my last day of internship at Destination Perak, my supervisor and all my colleague had organised the feast to celebrate the upcoming Ramadhan so we had gathered at the boardroom to recite Yasin before we had our feast.

I am so happy that all staff of Destination Perak had accepted and gave Ayu and I opportunity to become family of Destination Perak for the last 4 months. We took some group selfie before we all went home.
