(Requires self-reflection/global reflection, activates informational writing skills, requires organization of text, requires adjustment of lexile levels and appropriate word choice for audience).

2. Eighth graders submit or Skype questions to real-live juniors, who respond to questions. (Develops public speaking competencies, requires identification of audience, addresses authentic problem of lack of preparation for 8th graders, provides socio-emotional support and connections between students, fosters competence in video-conferencing technologies).

3. Future: 8th grade reaches back to 6th graders; Alumni reach back to 11/12 graders.
