This consultation is for the Bannock Burn River Woodland Development Project, offering an opportunity for people to share thoughts and ideas.

We are at the very start of our study and we would like to hear from you to see how the aims of the project align with the community. To help shape to proposals, we want to understand what issues and opportunities along the Bannock Burn are important to you.

What is the project about?

We are identifying opportunities for restoration, expansion and management of woodland along the Bannock Burn, to improve the extent, quality and connectedness of riparian woodland. This project also looks at other waterside habitats that are important for wildlife.

Who is involved?

The project is being led by a local volunteer-run charity, TreeLink Stirling. TreeLink aims to increase the quality, connectivity and extent of Stirling’s trees and woodlands and to improve recognition of their importance and value for our communities and our environment.

The development plan is funded as part of the Riverwoods Programme. The Riverwoods Blueprint Project is a £3.5 million project supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, thanks to National Lottery players, and others. It sits at the core of Riverwoods partnership activities and aims to develop a practical blueprint for river woodland restoration and creation across Scotland.
