         <description><![CDATA[<div>We chose explanation 2 which states that some environmental factors do not have an impact on the genotype but on the phenotype instead. From the data we collected in our experiment we can conclude that this is true, however it is not only the light intensity that effects the phenotype. 2 out of our 4 petri dishes were put into a drawer with no light and 1 into a dark room which received light periodically. Out of the 50 seeds in the drawer 21 grew to be white while the rest didnt grow at all. In the dark room there was one white little sprout. With a logical inference you would infer that the drawer wouldnt grow but it was the other way around. This proves that light intensity definitely plays a role but water does as well. The other 2 petri dishes were placed in florescent light and by the window which was the control. The dish under the light had to  be given more water (about 2mL) throughout the experiment so it would grow because without it, the light would take it up. So in conclusion the environmental factors influence the phenotype by having the light intensity determine how much water a plant needs.  </div>]]></description>
