Ioannina often called Yannena is the capital and largest city of Epirus, an administrative region in northwestern Greece. Ioannina have a beautifull lake, Pamvotida and they are surrounded by big moyntains like Mitsikeli and Peristeri.

I teach English in a middle school in Chieti, in central Italy. I have participated in several Erasmus projects in the past and I've been an eTwinner for few years. ETwinning is a golden opportunity to work worldwide, to meet people and cultures, to learn and grow professionally and personally. My students are around 10-11 years old, they are as enthusiastic as me, curious and motivated. Christmas is the the best festival, it refers to lights, traditions, family, good food and peace. an All-day Primary School open from 7:00 to 16:00.The building of our school, hosts 1 primary school with 12 classrooms

and two classes of kindergarten. The total number of students is about 300. Our school organizes many events (cultural,

sporting, student competitions etc.) and aims to become a school open to society. For this it uses various print and

electronic media for its promotion.The main objective is to create the conditions of active participation of parents and the

local community in all school activities and the dissemination of actions not only to operators of the educational community

but throughout society. We also coordinate and participate in many etwinning projects, and CLIL orientated programmes.

There is access to the school library and various extracurricular activities such as painting, dancing, chess playing classes

in the afternoon.

Our school is active in various educational initiatives, including European programs such as Erasmus and eTwinning, aiming to enhance student engagement through international collaboration and digital literacy. The institution also emphasizes community awareness and social inclusion by hosting events and activities for students with disabilities and special needs.

Historically, the school was relocated to its current building after the 1978 earthquake caused damage to its previous premises. This site became its permanent location in 1980.

Across Greece, there are monuments, museums, art galleries, festivals and traditional feasts you can visit and experience during your holidays. The UNESCO World Heritage Sites and Monuments are scattered across the country and they are definitely worth a visit. The most famous of the archaeological sites is the Acropolis of Athens, a hilltop citadel with the most iconic ancient Greek monuments, such as the Parthenon, that has become an enduring symbol of Greek civilisation. Ancient Olympia is the site of the original Olympic Games. Greece has more archaeological museums than any other country in the world; in-fact they are around 196!
