I bet you are having fun outside and protecting us with the protective barrier you make, thank you! lately these ribosomes are troubling me a lot. One day I told them to awake the cytoplasm but they by mistake woke you, I know that you were having a rest but they don’t listen to me! But we can’t really do anything because they are the only ones who pass information from me to you and others. You know C (cytoplasm) has sending me a lot of letters saying that he now doesn’t have a lot of strength to hold us but I motivated him a little bit and now he is working fine.  To be honest I think I am the most important organelle, it’s a bit harsh but I can’t say this to anybody. I think I am more important than any of you because if I am not there you guys would not be able to function, if you disagree there is a reason I am in the middle so yea, that’s sit for today and write back what you think or if you need a bit help.

Dear Cell Membrane,

 

How’s life going? Hope you are doing well at your job. I think I am. The job of a ribosome is pretty hard. I have to keep synthesizing cells. Hope your job is easier. I found out just today that cells have many duplicates of me! And the exact number depends on how active a particular cell is in synthesizing proteins. For example, rapidly growing cells usually have a large number of me!

 

Anyway, I also figured out your job. You transport nutrients into the cell and also to transport toxic substances out of the cell. What do you think? I have been doing lots and lots of research on all my friends like nucleus. He is the brain of our town. We do whatever he tells us to do. He is like the Mayor.  And Mr. Cytoplasm is made of a jelly like substance and he keeps our town in place. He is like the sheriff.

And you, my best friend, are like the gate of the town. I am like a tourist attraction because I keep making proteins and the proteins are like the population. The Nucleolus is like the bodyguard of the Nucleus. Mr. Mitochondria is like the guy who helps people because he is the power source and he creates ATP.

I consist of three chemical building blocks: a sugar group, a phosphate group, and one of four nitrogen-containing bases namely adenine (A), cytosine (C), guanine (G), and thymine (T) stacked up in pairs between two intertwining lengths of sugar and phosphate. Picture a ladder that twists like a corkscrew, with the sugar and phosphate acting as the side rails and the base pairs acting as the rungs. DNA bases pair up with each other, A with T and C with G, to form units called base pairs. The order, or sequence, of these base pairs is critically important because it determines the genetic code that gives rise to specific life-forms, from humans.

 

 

II.    Outline a testable prediction of the outcome of the experiment

In the experiment she did we can see that when she mixes the milk and vinegar together, they do not mix so I think the amount of plastic (plastic over here is the weird mixture she got in the strainer) released will be more.

 

III. State the variables used (Independent variable, Dependent Variable and control variable).

 

Independent Variable (the variable that is changed or controlled in a scientific experiment): The independent variable will be the amount of vinegar put.

 

Dependent Variable (the variable being tested and measured in a scientific experiment): The dependent variable will be the amount of plastic released.

 

Controlled Variable (the variable that is constant throughout the scientific experiment): The amount of milk and the temperature of the oven 

 

Describe the method- Take one cup of milk, pour it into a bowl and warm it for a minute at 26 degrees. After that add 4 tablespoons of vinegar to the milk and mix it for 6 mins. When done put it into a strainer and get rid of the excess water with the help of a spoon. When removed put the mixture into a kitchen paper, let it dry for a minute and mold it into any shape you want. After that let it dry for a week

 

Materials needed- Milk, vinegar, strainer, two bowls, 1 spoon and a cup.
