Although Wonder is a good title, I think that Peculiar would also be a good title. This is because August acts in a peculiar way. He also looks peculiar. This might lower his confidence or make him self-conscious. August also went to Beecher Prep, an elementary school. "What school?" August said (8). "Beecher Prep. Right by us" (9). This also impacted him. This school added another few hundred eyes to stare at him every day. This may upset him or make him nervous, but at the end of the year he made friends and gained confidence. In total, six people get a first-person part in the novel. I think that this is a great concept. This helped me to understand how others view August. This also answered some questions that I had about the novel. This answered my question about why Marinda dyed her hair, so I do enjoy the multiple points of view. It felt like I was reading multiple novels in one.

August has a facial deformity, so people treat him differently. Therefore, a good theme is "Don’t judge a book by its cover". People treat him so rudely that they made a “Plague” game. But the truth is that smart, brave, funny, and I could go on forever. As stated in the text “We were laughing so hard…” (63). This proves that August is funny and has a sense of humor. For example, without Jack, Julian would still bully August. August’s family also supported him throughout school. “My name is Summer…” (51). This is when August met a friend, Summer. Summer helped him get through school. This is how family and friends helped and supported August throughout school.

I wouldn’t change the ending, but I would add on to it. I would add August and his friends going to Carvel at the end. In Wonder, the main character August must go to school. He was previously home schooled because he has a facial deformity. He goes through school getting bullied and friends that he makes throughout school help him to deal with it. I think that people from ages 8-108 would enjoy this book. I would recommend it to others. This is because the book has many plot twists and can get emotional. This book also has multiple first-person point of views. From pages 1-80 August is telling the story, but from pages 81-117 Via is telling the story. I liked when August and Jack got reunited. This is because it was emotional and I liked the use of bad grammar. The book Wonder is a great book and I think that many others would enjoy it.
