*3rd was instructing mathematical concepts such as doubles, skip counting, and friendly numbers that were helpful for students in mastering their multiplication and division strategies.
* 2nd shared they use math racks as a tool for students and the loss of utilizing that tool in 3rd is a huge jump/barrier for students
*3rd & 2nd agreed measurement is done quickly and students don't get much exposure. But this year the science curriculum incorporates measurement in authentic ways so the hope is that incoming third graders will have a knowledge base that allows them to understand 1/4, 1/2, 3/4...etc.

This way they don't have to start with 6 weeks intervention to show a student needs further support
-2nd found that incoming 1st graders are coming with good strategies in math
-We need to make sure 1st graders have a strong number line sense, see a relationship between addition and subtraction. * 1st feels this year students curriculum allowing students to completely experience/understand subtraction more than previous year. They believe next year they will have a stronger sense of subtraction. *Continue using terms such as "part-part-whole" this allows kids to manipulate the order and realize they are adding or subtracting
***1st is piloting new program that they like but is very challenging. Has led to great conversations. use equal and does not equal sign (bring the math down..)
