My name is Austin Nicholas Dragoș, and I am a prospective educator finishing my final semester of university to become a special educator for students diagnosed with autism. Although my field of study is childhood education for grades one to six, I am currently enrolled in a university course about natural science in early childhood and primary education, where the course's emphasis on early childhood settings is the reason why I am enrolled in this MOOC. My familiarity with early childhood education is mainly based on what I had learned in psychology and a few education courses, along with my previous observation of a pre-kindergarten classroom.

When I am not dealing with academia, partaking in hobbies such as amateur astronomy and traveling is what I like to do. Just as children have questions to many things around them, I find myself asking similar questions as well whenever I come across something new. That is why it is important to express and share a similar level of curiosity with children to foster intrinsic motivation while helping them become lifelong learners.
