I think this because art is all about perspective and creativity and therefore math does not need to be studied in order to be an artist. I do, however, agree that if someone is making a type of art that requires prowess in geometry or another type of mathematically related subject, such as realistic art, then they should study art. It has been proven that 90% of people will be more attracted the a real piece of artwork rather than a fake counterpart if it uses real geometry.

However a lot of arts contain organic shapes and math can only simulate it with great difficulty and at that point it's just easier to practice drawing.
