I was motivated by the IB attribute Caring because I want to protect people and animals affected by oil spills. This is shown in my actions to raise awareness, help clean beaches, and support environmental protection.

I helped by showing stats of oil spills and also contributed by talking about consequences. made because of oil spills i taked part by talking to Mariella, the one who organized the information.

I learned about myself that I had a lot of empathy for others and I discovered they had a lot of imagination because they had creative ways to solve this problem.

I think my activity can help because it teaches people to take care of the ocean and clean up oil spills. I based my decisions on what I learned about how pollution hurts animals and nature.

The Esmeraldas community had the problem of oil spills in its surroundings; this affected food and marine ecosystems. I discovered this problem because it was in the newspaper and on Instagram.

My group was Pipe and Mariella and they liked the project but they thought about oil spills but originally I wanted security but Mariella told us oil spills were more important so I respected her opinion and did that.

I think our project made people at school more aware of how oil spills hurt the environment. I noticed this because students started talking about protecting the ocean and helping with cleanup ideas.

I helped by researching how oil spills affect Esmeraldas and creating posters to teach others about protecting the ocean. My responsibility was to share information and encourage people to join our cleanup activities.

My actions can be an example to other people to show that helping these communities doesn't cost the opposite; it helps us and our brothers. Also, we can show people how to treat the environment.

Explain: What decisions did you make together as a group to organize this campaign, and how did you collaborate in the planning?

The decisions we made were showing how companies made mistakes so oil was spilled and they didn't do anything, so local communities or the government solved their mistakes. I collaborated by making a graphic organizer.

I think I did well at working with my group and sharing ideas about protecting the ocean. The most difficult part was finding clear information about oil spills and explaining it in a simple way.

We faced the time problem so we made more reasrch and put more information in our poster because we had to complete the time.

People in Esmeraldas, environmental groups, the government, and oil companies work together to clean up oil spills, protect nature, and make sure it doesn’t happen again in the future or to minimize the damage.

Describe: When did you show empathy toward people in the community and how did you demonstrate it with actions?

We showed empathy because we saw the problem and started a onliine campain to help wiith it also me and my family will go to esmeraldas to help that people.

Explain: What would you like to do differently or better in a future community project? What goal do you set for yourself to keep growing?

Next time, I would like to plan the project earlier and involve more people from the community. My goal is to keep improving my teamwork and communication skills to make a bigger difference.
