She wrote short stories and novels during the early twentieth century. She was born in 1873 in Virginia. During her life, she wrote 12 novels and 40 short stories. She was the eldest child of her family and had 6 brothers and sisters. Her father’s family was from Wales and her mother was a schoolteacher. She was never married in her life. During her childhood, she moved to Nebraska from Virginia with her family and parents. Willa Cather did her primary education at home.
