I like the idea of multi-department collaboration which I hope that our students can also work with each other and help one another to achieve the task assigned to them.

During the VR journey, I closed my eyes to ‘ignore’ the discomfort , only to learn after the experience that moving with the VR helps to make experience better.

3) Moving forward, these programmers can maximize AI capabilities and tools to help them work more efficiently reducing programming time from few days to 1 hour. Similarly for schools, teachers can now leverage generative AI (GenAI) to scale their presence in online settings, reaching more students while maintaining the personal connection that is vital to effective education.

The Discovery Tour engaged our different senses including a hands-on session to harvest our preferred greens, a tasting lounge serving greens from the smart farm, and an immersive VR factory tour. If not for the rain, we could have the opportunity to experience the sky track. Also displayed were autonomous Robotaxis and award-winning EVs.

I wonder what drives the culture of innovation and spirit of excellence, and how this could be accomplished in New Town. I'm also inspired to consider ways to better engage our students using learning technologies that are available to us.

An intelligent, innovative and sustainable way approach with a bigger picture in mind. SATO system of tracking assets and sticker labels like expiration of food (in canteen and our fridges) may be a good start in NTSS☺️

Upon entering Hyundai Singapore, I was most surprised by the presence of the "Smart Farm" – an advanced agricultural system managed entirely by robotic arms, from planting to harvesting. Seeing this level of automation in an automotive company led me to reflect on the rapid pace of technological development and how machines are increasingly taking over tasks once done by humans.

This experience raises an essential question for us as educators: What core skills should our students develop to remain relevant in a world where human labor is often replaced by machines? It is clear that fostering critical thinking, creativity, adaptability, and emotional intelligence will be vital. By equipping our students with these skills, we can empower them to leverage technology to enhance our lives, rather than risk having their opportunities overshadowed by it.

3. The company’s collaborative culture resonates strongly with me.  Within a school context, we want to encourage collaborative projects using digital tools and innovative technology, fostering teamwork among students and staff.

The era when paper qualifications were the primary focus is long gone. From my experience at HMGICS, I’ve come to understand that competencies such as adaptive thinking and creativity are essential for staying ahead in a competitive workforce.

Schools provide an ideal environment to nurture and develop these skills, and the insights I’ve gained only strengthen my belief in the critical role we play in offering students opportunities to build these competencies for the future.

The technology used in labelling and tagging items is very interesting. There is a chip embedded in every RFID label, which enables items to be tracked accurately.

Sato’s founder started with a labelling gun and progressed to create such efficient labelling technology. It sets the tone for the company. Similarly, what I do as teacher will affect the class environment culture.

The gardens help us appreciate the diversity of nature. They have plants from all over the world with ethnobotanical uses such as tequila agave from Mexico, manuka from Australia, yucca which is used as a graveyard marker.

The guide shared that many students do not know about our local plants like chiku. He shared the largest pitcher plants are found right in Malaysia. Even as we look to the world, we should not neglect to look inwards too and cherish the cool stuff we have.
