Cut four inches below the leaves and make sure the piece your cutting has no flowered. Also remove all the leaves from it. Then take the cutting and put it in a big clear glass of water. Put the glass in a location where it will get lots of sunlight and after a couple water changes in two to four weeks you should have roots. At this point you can choose to leave it in the water or plant it in a small gardening pot.
You can also use another method by cutting a part of the root off at around 2 inches and directly plant it in a pot of soil and keep it well watered.

you have to cut the top of the pineapple off and tear off some of the leaves on the bottom of the crown until you see root buds they are small brown-colored bumps around the stems perimeter. Allow the top to dry for several days prior to planting. Then place the bottom in a large jar of water and leave for a few days or until roots start to sprout. Place in a pot of soil and let nature run its course.
