We think this made Christopher feel embarrassed and upset because they were making fun of Auggie. We also think he was a bit annoyed because they were laughing in the backround.

After the call his new friends were laughing and saying stuff like “dude why was his face messed up”. Christopher was mad at his friends, Zach and Alex, he said back “dude why are laughing he WAS my old friend”

They should’nt have laughed at Auggie off camera and said kind things about him instead of putting him down. This probably made Christopher feel upset and angry 😤.

It would been awkward for Chris because he didn’t want to make Auggie feel upset and also wanted to have a freash start with new  friends (not that he wanted to forget about  Auggie but he wanted to not be seen as the kid who hangs around someone with a deformity.) Chris might also feel embarrassed because of the reaction of his new friend
