Measurable:  It is our intention to spend 11 days and 10 nights at an island resort. The budget per family should not exceed $7000, including no more than $700 for airline tickets, $2000 for accommodation, and $1500 for food

Achievable: To cover all expenses at the resort prior to leaving, we will need to save $7000 over the next 12 months (approximately $584 per month). In order to achieve this, we will establish weekly savings to be transferred directly to a savings account, as well as limiting our spending on other activities during this period.  

Relevant: I believe that this is a relevant and realistic goal for our family. If we choose a family friendly resort that offers countless free activities as well as take this holiday outside of the school October holiday, then the savings of $7000 will be sufficient for our our family holiday.

Time-bound: The total cost of the trip will be $7000, but we will require approximately $4000 6 months in advance to cover the Island package deal (flights and accommodations) which will be booked through our travel agent. The remaining money will be required as soon as we leave so that we can pay for the food package and other non-free activities when we arrive at the resort.
